About the Role:
Tonkin is a leader in asset management and spatial consulting services. We manage more than $5 billion worth of assets in a cloud-based Asset System, Conquest software, for 25 Regional and Metropolitan Local Government clients. This service is provided to our clients through an outsource model, including software access and services.
Being part of our Asset and Spatial Team in our Adelaide office, the Asset System Consultant will play a critical role in the development and management of asset registers for our clients, underpinning the provision of Tonkin’s asset management consulting services. Given the cloud-based software and systems, flexible working arrangements are available to suit either office based or working remotely.
Given the specialised nature of the role, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t have direct previous experience as an Asset System Consultant. The role may suit someone who has experience in a related field such as database management, asset register management, spatial consulting, finance or maintenance officer. On the job training will be provided by our experienced Asset and Spatial team members.

Your role will involve:
- Develop and update asset registers for a variety of asset types, including roads, stormwater, buildings, open space and common effluent systems.
- Data management and cleansing in spreadsheets to prepare for upload into the asset management system.
- Assist and develop solutions within the Asset System to assist our clients with the use of the software in the field for day-to-day operations, such as maintenance management of infrastructure.
- Update the system with annual capital works and maintain links between the asset register and associated spatial objects.
- Run transactions within the system, produce various financial reports from the system and contribute to the documentation provided for end of financial year and valuation reporting.
- Collaborate with clients and provide critical information to help them proactively plan future renewal to support the development of infrastructure asset management plans.
- Liaise with the Asset System vendor to continue up upskill and stay up to date with software development
- Assist users to develop skills to maximise utilisation of the system for their specific business requirements
About you:
To be successful in this role you will be / possess:
- Experience using Conquest, or similar asset management software, is desirable
- Have experience in data management and a keen eye for detail.
- Working knowledge of Asset Systems, databases and spatial software.
- A strong interest in infrastructure and asset management.
- A team player with excellent customer service skills who enjoys helping clients and colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
