Here at Linear Clinical Research, we are at the forefront of human breakthroughs, contributing to scientific discovery and advancement through world-leading clinical human trials and medical research. An internationally recognised organisation, Linear is WA’s only dedicated early phase clinical trials facility which recently expanded to open the Advanced Clinical Trials Centre in early 2024 spanning across three locations.
Our Finance team are a pivotal part of the organisation and work closely to provide both our corporate and early and advanced clinical trial teams with strategic and operational support with budgets, planning and analysis. Due to a recent internal promotion, we now have an opening for an Assistant Accountant to join the team.
Your role in our future
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Assistant Accountant will play a pivotal part of the finance team and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of key activities on the transactional side of finance whilst also providing comprehensive support across a range of accounting functions including administrative tasks and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is in the early stages of their finance career, part CA/CPA qualified as on the job training and mentorship will be provided.
A full list of duties can be found in the Job Description however, some of your duties will include but not be limited to;
- Maintain prepayments and expense accruals registers, performing monthly reconciliations and assisting with month-end processes.
- Process transactional accounting entries across AP and AR functions including journal entries, disbursement invoices allocation and employee reimbursements.
- Manage daily bank transactions and reconciliations, credit card applications and monthly reconciliations.
- Assist in the monthly processing of PAYG and quarterly BAS, producing reports and reconciliations for Finance Manager's review and submission to the ATO.
- Track and maintain financial internal controls across various departments.
Conveniently located on Hampden Road in Nedlands, this role will be offered on a full-time basis for 12 months in the first instance with a high chance of extension.

The successful applicant for this role will be a detail-orientated and dedicated accounting professional with a strong desire to learn and develop. With demonstrated experience working in accounting roles, the successful applicant will also have a solutions focussed, service driven attitude along with the ability to take on a variety of tasks across all accounting functions whilst prioritizing your workload efficiently
The key to your success will be your:
- CA/CPA qualified or actively studying towards this;
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong numerical and quantitative skills.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- High-level problem-solving and data entry skills.
