Last financial year Member purchases exceeded $2.93 billion and Member returns exceeded $72.5 million.Role summaryReporting to the finance manager (Risk Division), key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant include systems accounting; financial control; general ledger administration; treasury; investments portfolio management; and financial statements.Knowledge and skills

• Sound knowledge of insurance accounting standards and implementation of new standards.

• Ability to produce consolidate annual financial reports.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work with minimum supervision, including effective time management skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience

• Experience in an Assistant Accountant role.

• Experience with accounting and banking software.

• Experience in the insurance industry (desirable).
