Roberts Jones is an Australian property development and funds management company. Our ambition is to identify and invest in land and deliver sustainable communities in Sydney.
We are currently looking for a part time Assistant Accountant (2 days per week) to be part of our Corporate General Accounting Team based in Martin Place, Sydney.
This role would ideally suit an accounting student or someone who is looking to start their career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation
- Assist with month end reporting process (includes preparation of journals)
- Assist with the preparation of annual FBT return
- Assist and support accounts payable queries, invoicing and supplier management
- Obtain authorisations for payment in accordance with standard procedures and allocate expenditure to the current budget account
- Investigate any outstanding invoices and draw them to the attention of management
- Contribute to the process of regular cash flow forecasting by providing timely information on payments and direct debits
- Prepare invoice reports, which involves liaising with internal stakeholders, to ensure the prompt return of authorised invoices for payment
- Undertake a range of tasks associated with the use of credit cards, cab charges, reconciliation of statements, processing of new applications, downloading data from online systems, processing monthly payments and the maintenance of a centralised register, as well as following up on unallocated card expenditure
- Ad hoc tasks as required to meet business requirements.
Key skills required to succeed:
- Experience in Property Development will be an added advantage
- Dynamic, work independently and self-motivated with good interpersonal and coordinating skills
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting with 1 year minimum experience.
- Previous experience using Sage Timberline system is ideal but not essential
- Must be fluent in both English & Mandarin
- High degree of attention to detail & ability to multi-tasks
- Excellent time-management skills with ability to work under pressure
- Australian working rights required
