We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team in our Rhodes, NSW office. This is a 4 day per week 12-month fixed term contract, with Hybrid working, approx. 1 day in offer/week.

About the role
The Assistant Financial Accountant performs general accounting for the Group which will include
- Maintaining the general ledger accounts
- Reconciliation of transactions and key activities
- Reviewing store profit and loss month end
- Supporting the Financial Accountant for reporting activities, including providing detail for significant variances to budgets
- Supporting asset reporting, including maintaining asset register integrity and proper capitalisation and depreciation
- Supporting to identify, understand, and communicate key business drivers behind financial results, and provide additional ad-hoc reporting as needed
To be successful in this role
- You will be tertiary qualified with demonstrated experience within a financial accounting or similar position
- Experience within the retail industry would be highly advantageous but is not essential
- Intermediate to Advanced technical skills, including Excel and other accounting packages, experience with SAP would be highly advantageous
- You will be a motivated self-starter with strong time management and the ability to prioritise your work, along with understanding how to work to tight month end deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, good analytical skills and effective relationship management
