The Project

CPB Contractors, in joint venture, has been selected to deliver the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport’s airside civil and pavement works.  This is the third project awarded by Western Sydney Airport to the joint venture, following the earlier award of two earthworks packages.

The scope of works includes airside services and utilities, including aircraft pavements (runway and taxiways), aircraft isolation pad, airside roads, landscaping and aeronautical ground lighting system (including associated sub-station buildings) and other specialist systems.  Construction will take two years and the airport is due to open in late 2026.

Your opportunity

We are seeking to engage an Assistant Accountant to support the Western Sydney Airport – Airside Civil & Pavements, based onsite in Badgerys Creek.  This role will also support the newly awarded Western Sydney Airport - Cargo Precinct.  Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

• Administration of JV Partners monthly recharge claims – reviewing recharges in line with the JV deed, cross checking recharges to various JV registers, maintaining JV registers etc, liaising with JV Partner counterparts to obtain supporting documentation, review disputed/rejected charges, allocation of recharges to JV cost codes.
• Assist with month end process including Rover docket review, transaction listing review, Rover and non-Rover accruals, general journals, invoicing, EIS, Flexi, FPM reports, JV reports, JV Partners reports, Project Central uploads and cost code reconciliations.
• Liaise with project team on month end cost related queries.
• Plant weekly reporting and minimum hours tracking.
• Preparation and submission of FBT documentation.
• Assist with overseeing payroll function for wages staff.
• Assist with sub-contractor monthly claims.

Our minimum requirements for this role are:

• 1-2 years’ experience with an Accounting degree, preferably with a CPA/CA or near completion.
• High level of competency in using Microsoft Office tools (esp. Excel)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with JDE or similar software
• Developed communication and influencing skills and a team player. You are a go-getter who can work independently with a high attention to detail. Your commitment to meeting tight reporting deadlines is a must.
