The Position:
Salary $75,000 - $85,000
Full-time position reporting to the CFO, based in Brisbane HQ, located on-site in Loganholme. The Assistant Accountant is an integral part of a small finance team working closely with the rest of the team and the wider business to maintain the financial records, process transactions and provide support for reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Assist with monthly reporting of P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliation and ensure transactions have been coded correctly.
- Assist in preparing monthly BAS workings within legislation due dates, ensuring compliance with tax reporting and payment obligations (GST, PAYG, and payroll tax).
Accounts payable and expense management:
- Processing of supplier invoices, expense claims and credit card expenses.
- Assist with reconciling Supplier statements.
- Preparing weekly & monthly supplier payments.
Accounts receivable:
- Maintain customer master file.
- Managing accounts receivable ledgers and escalating any overdue debtors.
Banking:
- Perform weekly/monthly review of bank reconciliations transactions.
Payroll:
- Prepare input for fortnightly payroll.
Qualifications:
- Studying towards CPA preferred.
- Previous Xero experience is an advantage.
- Experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role.
- A strong communicator with excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to teamwork and reliability.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
