The Opportunity
Due to continuing growth, we currently have an opening for an Assistant Area Manager to join our team. The position will incorporate predominantly afternoon and evening site supervision, managing staff and commercial cleaning operations. The role works closely with an experienced Area Manager and is an ideal position for someone wanting to grow within the cleaning industry.
The Role & Responsibilities:
Your hands-on role will be to continuously improve our cleaning standards through training and engaging with our cleaning staff, understanding of scope and delivering superior service across the portfolio.
Supporting your Area Manager and as directed by them, your focus will be to manage the quality of work delivered by your cleaning team.
- Assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the cleaning services at your allocated sites.
- Detailed understanding of site scope and delivery or service.
- Performing onsite training and supervision of cleaning staff.
- Monitoring and documenting performance of cleaning staff.
- Conducting toolbox sessions.
- Assisting with rostering and recruitment.
- Monitor the stock levels of consumable items, ordering and replenish as required.
- Understand the effective and safe use of onsite equipment, train and direct onsite cleaning staff in use.
- Following company policy and procedures.
- Participating in internal and external meetings.
- Assisting in the startup of new contracts.
- Performing regular site inspections.
- Reporting maintenance issues.
- Ensuring all site equipment remains in good working order.
- Attending to ad-hoc works and rectification work at short notice.
- General administration tasks.
- Filling in for unmanned shifts.
Requirements
- The successful applicant will be a dedicated Cleaning career-minded person.
- Cooperate with our other Cleaning Supervisors and Area Managers
- Have experience in managing groups of cleaning staff through proven leadership qualities.
- Possess excellent communication, organisation, time management and reporting skills.
- Someone who enjoys a fluid ever-changing workplace where no two days are the same.
- The ability to work flexibly and be proactive.
- High attention to detail.
- Holds a valid driver's license.
- Able to provide appropriate National Police Clearance.
