The opportunity:

Based in Melbourne, the Assistant Category Business Manager is responsible for assisting the National & Category Business Managers to grow profitable category sales, maintain strong supplier relationships and support our retail customer category strategy.

What you will do:

• Manage designated categories utilising category management principles to ensure ranging the right products at the right price within required timeframes for Wholesale and Retail requirements.  
• Coordinate and manage merchandise queries with internal stakeholders, supplier base, Independent Pharmacies and Major Groups.
• Provide administrative support to National & Category Business Managers to assist in the delivery of key performance indicators for the specific categories.

What we are looking for:

Our ideal candidate is someone who will have an understanding of the principles of category management and experience working in a retail environment. High attention to detail and being process oriented is crucial to the success of this role. You will be highly organised, efficient, have excellent follow through skills and be a self-starter. Initiative and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines are also required. A strong customer focus is also essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the business.

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Knowledge of the Pharmacy industry including retail landscape, suppliers and products would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of Category Management principles.
• Ability to deal and negotiate with suppliers regarding ranging, deals and achieving revenue stream targets.
• Structured, detailed and logical approach in handling suppliers and customer queries.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills applicable to key stakeholders internally and externally.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• High quality business acumen and be able to represent company professionally in all dealings.
