About KBGC
Kingston Beach Golf Club is a premium 18 hole championship course located just 15 minutes south of Hobart. The Club has picturesque river and mountain views and is highly regarded for its excellent greens. In recent years we have hosted the Tasmanian Open and Tasmanian Senior Amateur to much acclaim from local and mainland competitors.
This opportunityOur Assistant Superintendent has decided to grow his career further in New Zealand, so we’re looking for a new one. This role reports to our Course Superintendent and is part of a course team of five who ensure the course, practice areas and surrounding areas are maintained and presented to the highest standard for our members and visitors. We’ve also extended our services, now providing Greens and Surrounds maintenance to the nearby Huon Valley Golf Club.
Under the general direction of the Course Superintendent, key responsibilities will include:
- work health and safety—implementing and maintaining safe work practices for the team, including embedding the e par platform
- scheduling and monitoring course irrigation
- planning and scheduling of contracted services to the Huon Valley Golf Club
- coordinating day to day work schedules for the team
- ensuring routine asset maintenance
- assisting with staff supervision and development, and
- leading the team and work schedule on a relief basis during the Superintendent’s periods of leave.
You’ll fit right in to our team if you:
- can establish and maintain effective working relationships
- are a good communicator
- are proactive and use your initiative to solve problems
- are self-motivated with the ability to lead and motivate others
- are willing to work flexible hours including rostered weekends
- have attention to detail
- have experience with any of the following, particularly in the golf industry:
- chemical and fertiliser application in southern Australian conditions
- irrigation including maintenance and programming
- construction or landscaping, including drainage
- mechanical work.
You will also need:
- at least 5 years’ experience in turf maintenance
- Certificate 3 in Turf Management or equivalent or higher formal qualification
- Chem Cert
- Drivers License
- Work rights in Australia
Experience in a similar leadership role will be advantageous.
