With a growing property portfolio, an opportunity has been created for an Assistant Development Manager to join a lean and high-performing property team here in Sydney to oversee major new build developments, fit-outs, and refurbishments.
The Business
This Australian-owned business was established 30 years ago and is rapidly expanding in all sectors. This national expansion will accumulate a property portfolio of 5,000 high-end residential apartments, 53 thriving venues/hotels, and two casinos.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Development in Sydney; this opportunity would suit someone with around 2 to 3 years of project/development experience within the commercial, retail, or hospitality industry. As the role will see you working in matters of development, it would be highly advantageous if you hold tertiary education within property or construction and possess a strong knowledge of or experience in lodging DAs, dealing with local planning, architects, consultants, and contractors.
With 30 active projects ranging from $200K to $300m, you will support two Development Managers and the Head of Development across the full development lifecycle.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in property, architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the design and delivery of retail, commercial, or hospitality projects
- You must have a solid understanding of the development lifecycle including the NSW planning process
- You must be an effective communicator with high emotional intelligence and strong attention
- You must be adaptable and enthusiastic to work across various tasks to achieve project and business outcomes including time, cost, quality, scoping, procurement, communication, people management, risk, and integration.
