Assistant Director

We are seeking a passionate, driven and knowledgeable Assistant Director with the experience and knowledge needed to lead, support and manage a team of educators in running our amazing Centre, Imagine Childcare and Preschool Nowra.

This is a unique position where the Assistant Director role is a predominantly off the floor position where your focus will be to support the current Director on a day-to-day basis. Our expectations is that the Assistant Director will support the staffing team where needed and support curriculum planning and development as required across all age groups. In addition, you will oversee and ensure that the workplace operates within OH&S requirements and duty of care of children and their families is strictly maintained. You will also be expected to act as the Director of the service in the absence of the Director and, always lead by example. All training on Centre systems will be provided.

Experience & Responsibilities / Selection Criteria

• Experience in mentoring a team as the Assistant Director 
• Strong understanding and application of the Early Years Learning Framework
• Experience in overseeing and implementing a program based on children's needs and interest 
• Strong understanding of compliance and of National Quality Standards (NQF) 
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Sound experience in supporting staff management of a medium to large service
• Support and work collaboratively with your team and assist and support the nominated supervisor in the general day to day running of the service.
• Manage and lead the community engagement.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Minimum Diploma of Children's Services
• Current approved first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma qualifications
• Current WWCC
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead a classroom environment
• Sound understanding of the EYLF and NQF
