Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer Division is seeking experienced leaders with financial management, budget management, financial statement and/or finance systems acumen to join the team.
Assistant Directors within the Division have demonstrated technical expertise to enable them to deliver quality outcomes regarding budget and financial matters and an ability to deliver and communicate financial information. They play a critical role in driving innovation, contributing to and implementing the agency’s strategic direction. We are looking for people who are energetic critical thinkers who thrive on a challenge and have strong leadership and management skills.
The Financial Branches within the CFO Division have current vacancies for Assistant Directors within:
- Group Financial Management, responsible for the internal financial management and provision of financial services across business areas within the Agency.
- Financial and Budget Management, responsible for delivery of the Agency budget, costing policy proposals and reporting to the Executive on the Agency’s financial position.
- Financial Accounting, responsible for external and statutory reporting including the Agency’s financial statements, asset control framework, tax management, partner agency reporting and treasury functions.
- Financial Systems, responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting the budget management system, maintaining SAP Finance modules, developing finance system strategies and ensuring accounting requirements are met in major payment system developments.
A merit pool will be established to fill similar vacancies over the next 18 months.
Chief Financial Officer Division
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Division manages Services Australia’s budget of $5.3 billion and administered payments of over $200 billion on behalf of partner agencies to ensure all Australians, no matter where they live, can quickly and easily access streamlined government services and support. The CFO Division continues to implement an ambitious reform agenda to modernise and automate the finance function.
The CFO Division provides financial advice, contestability, control and assurance to the Agency based on the following principles:
- Financial information that is accurate, transparent, consistent, relevant and timely.
- Simple, helpful, respectful, quality, contestable and informed financial and procurement advice to assist the Agency in decision making.
- Standardise and streamline financial structures, processes, reporting and services, in order to remove duplication and reduce inefficiencies.
- The automation of financial processes where it is efficient and viable to do so.
