Details: WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the WHS Commissioner. Here at WorkSafe ACT we are proud of the work we do and are committed to improving the physical and psychosocial health and safety of Territory workers.
We have a temporary vacancy up to 10 weeks for a suitably skilled individual to join the team as Assistant Director, Occupational Hygiene and Dangerous Substances (OHDS). The OHDS team is responsible for implementing regulatory strategies related to Occupational Hygiene, Dangerous Substances including occupational lung diseases, silica, asbestos, and other related hazardous materials or chemicals. The team provides specialist advice to other inspectorate teams, the issuing of dangerous goods and Dangerous Substances licenses and permits, and engaging with duty holders, stakeholders, and the ACT community.
In this exciting role you will provide leadership, support, guidance, and advice to your team in performing compliance and enforcement activities under the WHS Act and associated laws.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 29 April 2024 to 5 July 2024. Selection may be based on written application only. A Merit Pool may be established form this selection process and may be used to fill identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
