The Assistant Director - Procurement & Contracts sits in Strategic Finance and Transformation Division
The Strategic Finance and Transformation Division is responsible for a comprehensive range of strategic, operational and support services across the college in the areas of strategic finance, financial management and compliance, financial reporting, financial audit, asset and facilities management, procurement and contract management
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business areas to develop all procurement documentation and manage procurement activities (primarily RFQ and RFT processes) and contract management activities.
- Manage procurement timeframes and risks.
- Conduct assurance reviews and reporting for procurement and contract management activities.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including in particular, Procurement ACT, Major Projects Canberra and internal business areas.
- Promote and apply the ACT Government procurement framework, including legislation, policies and processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Have an understanding (or ability to quickly develop an understanding) of ACT Government procurement legislation and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting procurement and contract management activities, ideally in a government context - from creation of procurement plans and RFQ/RFT documentation, through to evaluation, negotiation, contract finalisation and thereafter contract management.
- Ability to work within limited timeframes, including experience in planning, prioritising and organising work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders and consistently provide high quality customer service.
