The Strategic Procurement Services team provides procurement advice and support to assist agencies deliver strategically important WA State Government programs, projects and initiatives. Team members often work away from Finance’s physical offices, being embedded with agencies and working collaboratively within a project team environment to deliver great outcomes for Western Australia.
As the Assistant Director you will be responsible for:
- working with agencies to determine how the Strategic Procurement Services team can best meet their needs;
- mentoring and supervising individual team members who have been deployed to agencies and who may be working remotely from Finance for extended durations;
- providing specialist advice on, and support to, complex, high-risk procurements on an as-required basis; and
- identifying opportunities for cross agency collaborative procurements and then working with agencies to turn those opportunities into reality.
About You:
We are looking for procurement professionals who are able to see the big picture, think and act strategically and be comfortable with uncertainty and risk. You need to be a people-person, a strong communicator and pragmatic and flexible, and someone who can tailor their team leadership approach to support the dispersed team members.
