The Chinese Australian Early Childhood Centre is an established early childhood education and care Exceeding Service, situated in Mawson, ACT. It is operated by the Association for Learning Mandarin in Australia, a non-profit community organisation. The Centre is dedicated in providing high quality education and care in a bilingual setting. We aim to promote the learning and use of the Mandarin language and a greater understanding of Chinese culture within the ACT community.
We are looking for a dynamic, confident leader in the Early Childhood Industry to join our management team as an Assistant Director/Educational Leader.
Someone who strives to excel and leads by example, setting high industry standards for their team. Working collaboratively with the Centre Director to help their service, by creating quality relationships with children, parents and staff, and reaching the heights of success.
Essential skills and attributes
- Understanding of the Education and Care National Law and Regulations
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) to assist in ensuring quality practices and outcomes.
- Ability to support, mentor and lead a team of educators in the absence of the Centre Director
- Capability to assist in managing daily operations, from staffing to parent communications.
- Strong verbal and written skills for effective interactions with families, staff and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to effectively address and resolve issues that may arise within the service.
Highly desirable qualifications and attributes
- Fluency in Mandarin or another language other than English.
- Previous experience working in a bilingual childcare or education environment or leading a highly multicultural and multilingual centre.
- Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and support staff.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director/Educational leader
