As an Assistant Distribution Manager for Lincoln Sentry, this role is a key part of the site leadership group whose collective aim is to develop and lead the operational and customer service excellence in the distribution function in the Preston’s Distribution Centre.ResponsibilitiesLead the continuous improvement of the site safety culture for all staff and visitors
Champion the safety strategy for the site and ensure adherence to strategy by all staff
Set and deliver training for compliance for all staff
Review stock discrepancies
Review accuracy of orders picked, packed, receipted, and put away and identify areas for improvement
Manage resources in line with budget requirements to ensure productivity targets are maintained and budgets are met
Identify and build development plans for high performing staff with a focus on enhancing capability and increasing efficiency and to ensure they are skilled for current roles and ready for future roles
Conduct annual performance reviews and provide informal feedback to staff on a regular basis
Foster the training and development needs of the team
Mentor Team Leaders to promote continuous improvement practices
Skills & ExperienceSomeone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has passion for success
Sound leadership and development experience ideally in a warehouse environment
Previous experience with the management of stock levels within a small to medium warehousing environment
Demonstrated experience working in a similar environment, involving the management of a retail store environment and/or distribution
The ability to seek out improvements and drive process enhancements
Strong safety focus
