You may have heard we have big things coming for Georges River 16ft Sailing Club (GRSC) and the first phase of our function room renovations are now complete. The master plan is in and phase 2 of the redevelopment commences in early 2024 where we will become the destination venue in the Bayside precinct.
Under the leadership of the F&B Manager/Club Manager and with the support of the Senior Leadership Team, the Team Leader is responsible for the front of house (FOH) operations ensuring a superior guest experience.
Whilst this role operates across all areas, there will be a significant focus on the GRSC Bistro, Bar and Functions. The role will also assist with compliance to relevant Registered Clubs legislations, venue security and the overall protection of the venue licence. In the absence of the F&B Mgr/General Manager the Team Leader will be responsible for the operation of the venue.
Key Duties:
Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of the daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, inventory management, and cash handling.
Staff Supervision: Provide leadership and direction to the venue staff. Assign and delegate duties, conduct regular staff meetings, and monitor performance.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality and presentation of food, beverages, and service provided in the venue.
Guest Experience: Providing friendly and professional food & beverage service to all guests, resulting in an ‘Exceptional Guest Experience’.
Functions: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events and special promotions. Set up and pack down of event rooms and coordination on the day when required and liaising with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcome.
Compliance/Security: In the event of an emergency assume the role of Chief Fire Warden. With the assistance of security staff ensure adherence to RSA legislation and venue open and close procedures.
Our ideal candidate
You will come with solid F&B experience either in a large restaurant leading the team or a functions centre where delivering exceptional functions is just second nature for you. You are a natural leader and know how to communicate and bring the best out of your team. You also don't shy away from the difficult conversations and you can address staff performance to ensure they feel supported and corrected at the same time.
