We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Facilities Managerto join our largest client account in Queensland.

Role

This role is fly in and fly out role out of Brisbane and will cover Surat region.

It is 14 days on and 7 days off roster.

Using a flexible and adaptable approach the responsibilities of the Assistant Facilities Manager include:

  • Supporting the operations of a Remote FIFO Residential Village with occupancy of 50 - 200 residents
  • Reporting to Facilities manager, manage and support all village services including, catering, cleaning, FM services, accommodation, and reservations management
  • Manage and maintain the CMMS system capturing all Preventative and Reactive work orders for the site/s;
  • Delegate and allocate work orders as required to ensure contract requirements and KPI's are achieved;
  • First point of call for BMS management office, interfacing with all internal and external customers relating to the contract;
  • Full compliance and consistency with the contract and BGIS business systems;
  • OHS &E policies and procedures are met and maintained by all stakeholders.
  • Review all invoices before issuing them to the Senior Facilities Manager / Contract Manager for approval.
  • Review and approve where appropriate certain invoices for services that are paid for directly by the Clients.
  • Contribute to the accruals monthly process.
  • Maintain and update Purchase Order Register
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, client sub-contractors, suppliers and consultants.
  • Conduct work activities in accordance with proper procedures, equipment, and training and in accordance with BGIS Management system.
  • Report hazards, unsafe work practices, near misses, or incident immediately to your supervisor.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong demonstrated experience in Remote Village services / facilities management environments.
  • Proven ability in working within an integrated service, Facilities Management, Project Management
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated business planning and high-level financial knowledge and skills.
  • Proven capability of working within an environment using QA, OH&S and environmental systems.
  • Able to respond quickly to change and adopt a flexible/ innovative approach to problems and opportunities.
  • Proficient in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System knowledge (CMMS).
  • Proven ability and experience in managing staff.
  • Demonstrated high quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exposure or demonstrated experience in managing/ supervising delivery of subcontracts.
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking of various duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Certificate or equivalent.
  • Formal tertiary qualifications in Hospitality / facilities management or related discipline
  • Training in current OH&S, QA and ideally environmental legislations and systems

Desirable to have:

  • Trade qualification - TAFE or equivalent
  • Current Driver's License
