Our client has been operating for over 25 years and are a global leader in the production of the natural insecticide active ingredient, Pyrethrin, which is derived from Australian grown pyrethrum daisies. In addition to Pyrethrin, they also grow a range of commercial grain and row crops. Their properties range from 20ha – 160ha and are located between Penguin and Wesley Vale.

Due to growth, they are on the lookout for their next standout Assistant Farm Manager.
Your Role
Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the operational success of our client's farming hubs in Tasmania. As the Assistant Farm Manager / Farm Supervisor, you'll be responsible for orchestrating farming operations and supervising farm personnel to ensure smooth daily operations.
Your duties will include overseeing and participating in spraying and irrigation tasks, as well as documenting farm inputs.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to regular farm planning meetings.
- Assist with implementing the production strategy.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining the Quality Assurance systems.
- Assist in implementing safety systems in line with WHS standards.
- Supervise contractors as required.
- Coordinate purchasing and stock control for chemical and equipment.
- Assist in the management of the Farm Group equipment and assets to increase asset life and support management with replacement plan.

It is important that you come with proven supervisory skills as well as being able to address the following:
- 4+ years’ experience in farming supervisory role
- Previous experience with broadacre or row cropping.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for machinery maintenance.
- Effective time management and record keeping skills.
- First Aid Training Level 1 or above (or willing to undertake).
- Farm Chemical Course – Accreditation (ChemCert).
- Certificate III in Agriculture or higher discipline (desirable but not essential).
- Good computer literacy – Microsoft Office, email, and farm specific recording program.
- Driver’s license.
