Assistant Financial Accountant

Introduction:We are currently recruiting a temporary Assistant Financial Accountant in a State Government Department for an immediate start for approximately 2 months.  Ideally you will have over 5 years experience in a similar role.  Additionally, we have a number of anticiapted temporary positions coming up for EOY.  

Responsibilities:

• Ability to communicate effectively, using a variety of mediums, with a broad range of customers (internal and external) and government service providers. This includes the ability to effectively manage customer interactions including conflict resolution.
• Experience in an accounting or a financial transactions environment, utilising computerised accounting systems, financial management systems or financial database
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions.
• Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
• Conduct regular financial analysis and generate reports for management.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.

Requirements:

• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a culture of teamwork and service delivery excellence and taking shared responsibility for achieving results.
• Demonstrated ability to analyse problems, formulate appropriate solutions and understand new concepts and information quickly whilst ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
