Role Requirements- Degree in Accounting (preferred but not essential), Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, or a Diploma in Accounting.
- Skills, knowledge and experience (including technical skills).
- Knowledge of financial accounting skills including asset register maintenance, balance sheet reconciliation & banking.
- Experience in month-end close.
- High level of problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated excel skills
Assistant Financial Accountant responsibilities
- Assist with timely and complete close of month and year end in accordance with agreed timeframes including preparation of journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Together with the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Accountant, act as a point of contact for external audit including preparation of the audit file and reconciliation support information, liaising with auditors.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) industry survey reporting and other like surveys.
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of oversight for all Resident/Petty Cash & Client Gift Card reconciliations.
- Support with Treasury functions such as administration of bank accounts, corporate card management & payment runs.
- Timely and comprehensive maintenance of financial controls and reconciliations (including bank accounts and balance sheet reconciliations).
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register.
- When required, assist the Accounts Supervisor with Billing and processing of Supplier invoices.
- Act as back up for other Finance Team members and the Accounts Supervisor.
- Any other duties as required.
