Assistant Financial Accountant

• Assistant Financial Accountant
• Temporary to Permanent
• 40 hours per week
• Immediate start required
• SAP experience non-negotiable

An opportunity for an experienced Accountant has become available to join my client based in West Perth. You will be working as part of an established accounting team where you will be responsible for contributing to the successful running of the accounting function.

Your duties will include

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Process end-of-month general ledger
• Process end of month journals and drive month-end and year-end closing processes
• Maintain a rolling cash flow forecast to support financial planning and decision-making
• Manage day-to-day banking operations, upload payments, rotating funds, bank reconciliation and working capital facilities
• Process accurate and timely payroll
• Ensure compliance and prepare timely tax returns in collaboration with tax advisors
• Accurately process and code incoming invoices, adhering to accounting principles and internal policies
• Maintain adherence to company financial policies and internal controls
• Collaborate with the management accountant and stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Provide support to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable roles
• Assist with other accounting tasks and projects as required

Requirements

• Work experience as a Financial or Assistant Accountant in Australia
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
• Hands-on experience with accounting software SAP
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
• Additional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus
