Job DescriptionThe Louis Dreyfus Company are currently recruiting for the full-time position of Assistant Ginner, based in Dalby. In this role you will be part of a small team and be involved in all aspects of cotton ginning operations including but not limited to:
- supervising a seasonal team of workers during day or night shift
- monitoring production, conducting preventative maintenance and resolving breakdowns promptly
- ensuring safe systems of work and sufficient information, instruction, training and supervision is provided for health and safety
Desired skills
If you have ginning experience, we’d love to hear from you, but we’d also encourage you to apply if you are mechanically minded and have experience in other industries.
You will need to be:
- mechanically minded
- safety-aware and have fitness to handle long shifts during the season
- eager to learn and able to think on your feet and troubleshoot
- self-starter with the ability to work independently takes initiative and challenges when required
- good work ethic and team player
- ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees, customers and third parties
To be successful in this role you will also be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug screen.
