The AIN assists and provides nursing support to the Registered Nurses (RN) and Enrolled Nurses (EN) and provides care for patients and families.The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living and other tasks as delegated by the registered nurse/midwife.
- Work effectively with clients, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team.
- Effectively communicate information verbally and in writing.
- Use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Willingness to undertake education as required by the role.
- Mandatory for Central Sterilising Department: Successful completion of Certificate III in Sterilisation from an approved training organisation based on nationally accredited competencies or equivalent. If qualification has not been completed, the successful applicant will have 12 months to complete the qualification as a condition of their employment.
- Highly Desirable: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable:
- Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or
- Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies, or
- Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
