Form of workSMS Healthcare is looking for an experienced Assistant in Nursing to join our friendly team at Central Sydney Private Hospital (CSPH) on a casual basis.
CSPH is a boutique day surgery located in the heart of Sydney in Haymarket.
CSPH is a modern day surgery offering services including endoscopy, ophthalmology ,dental and general surgery. The facility comprises two operating theatres. Our teams focus is on delivering the highest standard of personalised care all whilst maintaining the strictest processes in infection control.
CSPH is part of the wider SMS Healthcare Group, a unique and innovative business with a diverse portfolio of assets including: day and short stay hospitals, specialist practices and allied health clinics.
Position overview:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, this role will suit someone who is highly motivated with excellent clinical skills.
Under the supervision of Registered or Enrolled Nurses duties will include:
- Delivering care that is wholistic and individualised to the patient
- Act as an advocate involving patients, carers and staff in the decision making processes
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, legible and completed in a professional and timely manner
- Coordinate effective discharge processes for patients
- Ensuring any incidents with safety, quality and risk are escalated within 24 hours
- Actively seeks ideas to improve processes and support and participate in improvement programs
- Maintain confidentiality at all times

Pre-requisites for the role:
- Cert III or IV Health Services Assistant or Nursing Undergraduate (2nd year onwards) with placement experience
- Current National Police Check
- Current Working with Children Check
- Full immunisation history
- Current Flu vaccination
