The role The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of quality patient care. This requires performing of service activities and aspects of direct patient care. The Assistant in Nursing works under the supervision and direction of the Registered Nurse however retains accountability for personal actions in fulfilling their role.
Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service
The Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service is a 24-hour accident and emergency hospital with a 15-bed acute facility, general medical and six long-stay nursing home-type beds. The centre has visiting services including Royal Flying Doctors Service, female GP, paediatrician and chest physician.

Casual (Three positions available).

- Salary range of $40.83 - $44.71 p.h. (casual rate) (NG3)

Requirements:
- Highly Desirable: Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are considered highly desirable:
- Hold a relevant Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Service Assistant or equivalent, or
- Successful completion of the first semester full-time equivalent Diploma of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies, or
- Successful completion of the first year full-time equivalent undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing course including all theoretical and clinical competencies.
- Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
- Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate.
