Assistant Manager | Cloudwine | Melbourne’s Leading Independent Wine Store
Do you have a passion for wine, leading great teams and have retail management experience? We are a fast growing independent wine store in South Melbourne looking for a full time Assistant Manager to help us scale.
About the role
You’ll be joining a small team of wine professionals at our independent wine store focused on showcasing small Australian wineries and cutting-edge craft beer and spirits.
As Assistant Manager you will:
- Create a welcoming environment for our customers and team
- Complete and delegate daily tasks across in store sales, online order fulfilment (picking & packing), customer enquiry management, store presentation and inventory management
- Identify and recommend products to meet customer preferences
- Ensure online orders are filled on time by managing the backlog of orders, allocating orders to staff and following up with customers
- Be the main point of contact for customer queries (phone and email)
- Manage inventory and store displays, including assisting with ordering as needed
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline customer service, order fulfilment and improve general store operations
When you’ll be needed
This is one of the few retail roles where the standard hours are Monday to Friday. There might be a few weekends a year we ask you to work if our regular weekend staff are on leave.
About you and your skills
To be successful in this role you will ideally bring:
- Previous experience in retail store management and retail sales
- A continuous improvement mindset and interest in implementing efficiencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Solid understanding of wine and a desire to learn more
- RSA Certificate (mandatory)
