We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic leader to join Huon in the role of Assistant Manager Marine Operations, providing leadership to a hardworking team at our picturesque Hideaway Bay site.
The role
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the Marine Operations team delivers a high-quality work performance in line with Huon’s safety and business objectives. Demonstrating the Huon values with a can-do attitude will contribute towards your success in this role.
As Assistant Manager Marine Operations, you will:
- Provide proactive leadership and clear direction to your team to achieve high standards of work output with a focus on safety and wellbeing.
- Understand reducing the cost of production and put forward news ideas and projects for Regional Operations, including input with stock plan, bathing frequency and fish health.
- Be proactive and undertake preventative maintenance of equipment to ensure efficient operations are maintained.
- Adopt a collaborative approach with Marine Operations teams to achieve production goals within budget, striving for best standard of stock security.
About you
- You have demonstrated experience within aquaculture with relevant tickets and qualifications that enable you to work efficiently and confidently on water.
- You have demonstrated your ability to lead a diverse team, supporting development of growth and capability.
- You excel in fast paced, dynamic environments with the ability to make sound and timely decisions under pressure.
- You are a confident communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with stakeholders across your organisation.
