If so, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Payroll Manager to join our team in our Balmain Offcie, where you will provide a professional and responsive payroll service to stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely execution of the payroll process for Australia and Papua New Guinea regions.
This position is ideally suited to an individual who not only has substantial experience administering a highly complex payroll service, but who has a strong customer & service delivery focus and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Reporting into the National Payroll Manager, the payroll function forms part of our Finance department and works closely with our People and Culture team on all employee-related entitlements and payments.
What You Will Do
Your key responsibilities in this position will include:
Prepare and process fortnightly and monthly payroll for +1000 employees, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, employment awards, industrial instruments, policies, and procedures
Maintain employee records including appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations
Prepare payroll tax, workers compensation annual returns and superannuation reconciliation and payment
Prepare regular reports and data analysis for operational teams and auditing purposes
Calculate and reconcile data for workers compensation claims and reimbursement
Assist with queries relating to payment of salaries, superannuation contributions and other salary deductions
Develop and maintain payroll procedures and apply best practice work methodology, to ensure that payroll activities are carried out accurately and in a timely manner
What You Will Need To Succeed
To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate:
Considerable knowledge and experience in a complex payroll function for a large organisation concerned with multiple awards and enterprise bargaining agreements
Sound knowledge and understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Demonstrated experience using ADP Payroll Software would be preferred but not essential
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present payroll information and communicate complex payroll topics to stakeholders
Strong financial and analytical skills with proficiency in using MS Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes
Willingness to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic organisation demonstrating resilience and perseverance
A proactive approach to tasks with a strong commitment to continuous improvement
