Position Information

Rydalmere East Public School has an enrolment of 160 students, with 56% of students from language backgrounds other than English and 6% of students identified as Aboriginal. We are a diverse community that includes a population of approximately 20% students from families that serve in The Australian Defence Force. We are a K-6 school with an onsite preschool and three support classes (autism and a multi-categorical) for students with additional needs. The hardworking and dedicated staff consist of a mix of early career and experienced teachers. We offer a quality education in a caring, nurturing environment. We are very proud of our learning programs, performing arts and technology. Our school promotes equity and excellence and delivering quality programs. Selection Criteria
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity to balance exemplary classroom practice and fulfil the complex leadership and management roles of an Assistant Principal.

2. Evidence of ability to collaboratively lead, model and implement evidence based and data driven practices that embed a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement with a focus on literacy and numeracy. 

3. Demonstrated ability to successfully lead stage teams with a proven experience to foster collaboration, motivate staff and mentor beginning teachers, as well as build positive, respectful and productive relationships with all stakeholders of the community. 

4. Proven ability to lead High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) programs, using effective assessment and data analysis to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes and whole school improvement.

5. Demonstrated capacity and skills to implement high quality extracurricular programs including, sport, debating and public speaking. 


General Selection Criteria

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies


Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
