The Role
Here is a fantastic opportunity for you to work for the world leader in the shipping industry.
We currently have a vacancy for a full-time position of Assistant Trade and Sales Coordinator within the National Asia Import Team in Melbourne.
You will be reporting to the General Manager Southbound Asia, IPAK, Middle East who is highly commercially experienced. This manager has high expectations of the team and prepared to train and mentor the right candidate.
The primary tasks and responsibilities for this position:
- Rate quotes and container hire approvals
- Pre and post sales activities eg: preparation of proposals, presentations, quotes and customer follow-up
- Liaise with load and destination ports to coordinate Asian sales efforts
- Liaise with Asian load ports for booking and Sales follow up
- General customer queries and complaints
- Assist the National VIP accounts with rate quotations, rate agreement updates, notice to shippers/clients and record verbal quotes given to customers over the telephone
- Compile all freight rates quoted by the customer service teams
- Maintain client agreements to ensure they are up to date
- Follow up on sales leads, review sales statistics and performance KPI’s
- Liaise with Global HQ for rate filings
- Report to trade managers on general market conditions
- Ensure the Asia Southbound Rate Application system is always up to date and accurate
- Assist with obtaining Geneva approvals for manifest correctors
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate the below skills:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work professionally whilst under pressure
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate work
- Time management and organisational skills to ensure agreed outputs and deadlines are met
- Shipping experience would be advantageous, however not essential
- Sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
