About the Role
The Business Services team in Corporate Solutions Operations is looking for an experienced Assistant Underwriter to support the Property portfolio!
Your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
  • Handling basic underwriting tasks, renewals, quotes, endorsements including Broker engagement where required;
  • Creating and maintaining records both electronically, if required, following established guidelines and processes;
  • Collaboration with outsourced providers on queries and issues;
  • Modifying, updating, and processing changes in applicable tools, systems, and documents, as needed;
  • Analyses and assesses Property submissions in respect of exposures and coverages; and
  • Prioritises new submissions quickly and optimally finding opportunities in collaboration with the wider underwriting team.
About the Team
The team is responsible for administration and operational tasks as well as support to Underwriters in terms of administration and some level of Underwriting assistance.
About You
  • Previous Insurance experience ideally with exposure to underwriting;
  • A keen interest in underwriting;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A strong team player with ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity;
  • Able to accurately and efficiently analyse data with a sound understanding of numbers;
  • Solutions and results oriented individual with an ability to multi-task;
  • Strong service and client orientation;
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office; and
  • Studying/willing to study towards Diploma in General Insurance (ANZIIF) or similar qualification.
