About the role
The Associate Accountant (Operations) supports the Manager Financial Accounting and Operations in preparing statutory financial reports and analysis, taxation and other regulatory compliance. This role will ensure financial information is timely, accurate and compliant with all relevant standards, directives and legislation and provide advice and support to key stakeholders providing a high level of customer service. The Associate Accountant (Operations) will also assist in maintaining the financial fixed asset register. The position reports to the Manager Financial Accounting and Operations and operates under their general direction.
About you
Imagine yourself as the ideal candidate for our Associate Accountant (operations) position! Your thorough understanding of relevant standards, directives and legislation is highly valued, particularly when liaising with internal and external audit and other regulatory bodies. While holding a CA or CPA qualification would be advantageous, it's not mandatory. You would play a vital role in the development and implementation of statutory and regulatory financial and taxation compliance.
Your assistance with other general accounting functions including maintenance of the fixed asset register, reconciliations, funding acquittals and related processes would be greatly beneficial, as would your talent for driving process improvements. You will collaborate closely with the rest of the UNE Finance team and other business partners both internal and external. You're not just a candidate; you're an asset to our financial operations.
