• To support the Senior Strategic Financial Advisers by participating in various client activities including preparation for and attendance of meetings, research, phone contact, paraplanning and support.

• Assisting the financial advisers in their provision tailored financial advice to a range of individual clients by assisting with the development of high quality financial strategies and plans.
• Working closely with financial advisers to build and maintain successful client relationships.
• Deal with technical client queries and follow-up outstanding matters
• Contribute to team meetings and projects and act as thought leaders and mentors for the team.
• Developing and maintaining a thorough knowledge of, and compliance with, the licensing and professional standards under which we operate.
• Adhere at all times to the Mercer professional code of conduct.
• Adhere at all times to Mercer's compliance guidelines to ensure that compliance breaches are kept to a minimum.

• University qualified
• Commenced the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (ADFP) or equivalent degree
• Ideally minimum of 3 years in a Financial Advice Assistant or Junior Paraplanning role
• Understanding of more complex structures such as trusts, defined benefit and SMSF.
• Superannuation, tax, investment, insurance and estate planning knowledge.
• Strong communication, written and numeric skills.
• High attention to detail.
