The Opportunity
A newly created opportunity exists to join the School as Associate Dean, Academic Executive Programs, a senior academic leadership position at the School responsible for leading and managing the School’s degree programs directed at executives and senior executives. The role provides advice and support to the Deputy Dean Academic and will work collaboratively to foster alignment within the School’s academic functions and across the School’s Executive Education and Engagement functions to ensure a wholistic and improved approach to the School’s current and new executive MBA programs.
As the successful candidate you will lead the transformation of the School’s existing executive degree programs (Executive MBA and Senior Executive MBA) and drive the creation of new academic-based executive programs. The goal is to align with the School’s strategic vision, emphasize global orientation, and address next-generation business challenges through innovative management practices.
The role will also be accountable for creating a platform for enhanced industry engagement and greater use of technology as a focus of strategic capability development via the School’s academic executive programs.
Some key accountabilities will also include:
- Oversight of program content that meets academic rigour and remains market focused and student centric
- Supporting marketing, communication and recruitment activity to contribute to program growth and student quality
- Working with relevant stakeholders to design and launch new Executive aligned award programs with a novel market position, learning philosophy, architecture and curriculum.
- Establishing partnerships with international business schools for the benefit of providing students across the partnership with greater diversity of learning experiences and perspectives
- Providing advice to the Deputy Dean, Academic on matters relating to academic programs
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in a business-related discipline (required).
- Demonstrated experience in the design, launch and delivery of Executive Education Programs, including the creation and leadership of innovative program portfolios
- A track record of driving and/or implementation of change initiatives in the higher education context including demonstrated successes in working collaboratively with diverse stakeholder groups
- A strong record of high-quality, innovative teaching in a business-related discipline and which is commensurate with appointment at Associate Professor/ Professor level at MBS
Your strong commercial acumen including demonstrated expertise in balancing academic and commercial objectives of a program together with your strategic mindset will be critical to your success in this role.
