Data Strategy & Governance department, together with the Data Transformation Tribe and our Data Platforms Management team, responsible to develop the vision, strategy, and culture to manage data as a strategic asset for Optus in collaboration with key partners within the Group Data Office and Group IT, Optus Consumer, Business, Wholesale and Enterprise. The primary purpose is transpose Data to a critical asset, and to foster an organised system that constantly provides cheaper, faster, more trusted, secure, flexible ways to drive value with data.

Your day to day will consist of...

• Provide strategic leadership and mentoring within the team and throughout the organization to ensure that data initiatives are in sync with the organization's objectives.
• Lead and deliver Data Quality framework, Data Quality scoring methods, define Critical Data Elements, responsible for Enterprise metadata, data definitions and adherence to accurate use of Data Definitions glossary across Optus.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate potential improvements in Data Quality, working in conjunction with tribe leads and BU data governance teams to develop clear visibility and evaluation of the Data Quality, prioritise issues, identify risks and implement mitigating controls.
• Make sure that quality risks are well managed with high degrees of management awareness, whilst Identifying and implementing innovative data technologies and practices.
• Leading all aspects of data performance through key performance indicators and applying data-driven insights to convey advancements and obstacles to senior leadership and business partners.

What makes you perfect for the role?

• Relevant professional qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, IT, or relevant function, e.g. Econometrics, Data Science, complimented by extensive professional experience in leadership roles in complex organisations in a similar role.
• Vast experience in Data Quality Management and/or business user of Data with extensive quality improvement experience.
• Understand enterprise level Data Quality, master data management and related metrics.
• Strong financial & commercial competence, plus analytical and conceptual skills.
• Proven track record in creating and leading high-performance teams underpinned by the ability to improve business results with analytically driven solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder management. relationship building and consultation experience, including experience dealing with ELTs and SLTs, and ability to clearly articulate and influence business outcomes through visualisation and creative story telling.
