Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Associate Director, Digitial Research Infrastructure to join Research Infrastructure, Research Portfolio, Academic Division.

Do you want to use your strong digital leadership skills to help solve some of the worlds most pressing challenges? QUT is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to provide strategic planning and operational excellence in our digital Research Infrastructure. While technical expertise will be important, the successful candidate will focus on relationship management with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will support QUT researchers, and our research partners, to accelerate their ambition through the delivery of seamless, sustainable and high-quality digital Research Infrastructure.

Research Infrastructure (RI) delivers coordinated University-wide Research Infrastructure capabilities through distinct research facilities. In collaboration with internal and external partners, the unit acquires, facilitates access to, develops, and manages world-class Research Infrastructure capabilities. RI coordinates digital Research Infrastructure through the eResearch, VISER and Digital Observatory platforms..

What you need to succeed

  1. Relevant education, training and/or experience equivalent to the completion of a post-graduate qualification, together with extensive experience in managing information technology infrastructure in a higher education or research environment.
  2. Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and experience at a senior level in leading and managing professional and academic staff, including a capacity to develop cooperative, collaborative and highly motivated team environments and to build highly effective working relationships.
  3. Extensive experience in governance, strategy development, risk management, cyber-security and operational management of digital platforms, ideally in a research environment.
  4. Extensive high-level project management experience with a demonstrated ability to plan, oversee and manage large projects.
  5. Successful experience in performance and resource management, including demonstrated performance in the financial and asset management practices of a large digital infrastructure portfolio.
  6. Significant track record of developing partnerships and building consensus within a higher education or research context.
