This role is responsible for undertaking credit decisioning within a 2nd line risk Delegated Commitment Authority across larger SME and Corporate customer funding requests in a fast -paced and complex environment, with focus in the health, government, education and community sectors.
Ensure that an acceptable level of risk is maintained and losses are kept to a minimum. Maintain asset quality within credit appetite strategy, within policy guidelines and aligned with strategy.
Contribute to strategic initiatives to achieve Credit Risk deliverables to drive process improvement, simplification, efficiency and streamlined risk management.
Key Accountabilities:
- Consistent credit decisioning activity ensuring that asset quality is maintained within delegated authority, risk appetite, credit policy and sector strategy.
- Making it simple for our customers and bankers
- Providing subject matter expertise and advice on credit and other areas of risk for bankers
- Engage with customers and bankers on structuring or Credit Risk related matters
- Building capability of colleagues
- Contributing to risk initiatives to improve and streamline risk management.
What you will bring:
- At least 7 years banking experience, previous Credit Risk decisioning experience with material authority required. Corporate/SME banking experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience of managing risk and demonstrated ability in making commercial, risk based decisions.
- Specialist Health & Government / Education / Community experience highly regarded.
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders and being able to effectively navigate the organisation.
- Knowledge and application of NAB's Risk Appetite, Risk Settings and policy
- Knowledge and expertise applicable to Management, Industry & Business evaluation
