Financial Institutions Group (FIG) client base comprises top tier public and private institutional relationships with a primary focus across banks, brokers, insurance, other financial and public sector clients across Australia, Asia, US and Europe. The client portfolio is geographically diverse, demanding the highest level of tailored global solutions and support.Taking on the role of an Associate in FIG, you will be reporting directly to the Head of FIG Australia, working closely to manage a portfolio of insurance sector clients, continuing to develop your relationship management experience, providing a pathway to future potential opportunities.You will have the opportunity to apply your analytical mind and understanding of finance and treasury to understand clients’ businesses, build strong relationships to help provide solutions as a trusted client support across our full suite of products. Working with some of the biggest clients in Australia with the most complex needs, coupled with exposure to HSBC’s global network, there are endless options for your future career direction.
Your main responsibilities will include:- Managing a client portfolio as well as working closely with other team members to grow long term relationships with key clients in the insurance sector.
- Delivering tailored solutions for our key correspondent banking clients across, transactional banking, working capital and trade finance and custody.
- Maintaining a high level of risk management quality across the relevant portfolio, mitigating credit, operational, legal and financial crime risks.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that transactions are complying with both internal and external requirements, safeguarding the bank against any material loss.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with International colleagues and stakeholders.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role you will need:- Existing experience in a related regulated field such as another bank, finance, operations investment team or treasury function, ready to take the next step with the motivation to grow your career.
- Experience with the insurance sector would be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of financial services, financial crime compliance and the external regulatory/industry environment, as well as global payments and correspondent banking.
- Sound understanding of due diligence, risk identification and mitigation activities.
- Ability to build strong connections with clients, understand their pain points and position HSBC as a solution provider.
- Strong communications skills, both verbally and in writing with a variety of audiences, enabling you to build effective relationships and exercise influence both internally and externally.
- A team focus, able to share and express ideas openly, while appreciating other points of view, being able to work both independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
- Proactively to participate in and promote local, regional and global initiatives.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
