A private practice firm specialising in insurance law and providing high quality advice on general and discreet insurance issues to a wide variety of insurance clients. Experts in assisting with policy drafting and advising on policy interpretation. They also provide specialised advice and assistance in a broad range of commercial law and property matters.
Your new role
Due to the growth of the team, they are seeking an associate to work between the senior associates and lawyers. The successful candidate will take carriage of their matters and will have the ability to pick up a litigation file and understand the next steps to be actioned in order to keep the matter moving, using well-honed skills and initiative in terms of strategy and approach. The role includes advising insurers on indemnity, reading insurance policies and providing indemnity advice in the area of public liability, such as personal injury and property damage.
What you'll need to succeed
- Admitted to practice as a Lawyer in NSW
- Current NSW practising certificate
- Minimum 4+ years PAE in litigation, predominantly in insurance law
- Background in defendant litigation insurance work
- Experienced in court attendances and drafting court orders
- Ability to read insurance policies and give indemnity advice under an insurance policy, including drafting advices.
- Capability of stepping up to senior associate level to cover a practice during extended leave
