Associate Lecturer, Industrial Design

Overview:​​Full-time​, ​Continuing position​Salary Academic Level A + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working ArrangementsBased at the ​Melbourne CBD​ campus, ​but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University​About The PositionThe Associate Lecturer must lead classes in their area of expertise, engaging in academic and administrative tasks related to these disciplines. Responsibilities include delivering lectures and tutorials, evaluating students, and managing courses in accordance with the University's standards. Additionally, they are expected to contribute to research aligned with RMIT’s strategy. The role involves progressive development in teaching and research with support and direction, fostering increasing independence over time.To be successful in this position, you’ll have:Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials.Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning.Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.About the ​College​RMIT’s College of Design & Social Context brings together creative and practical study in the fields of design, technology and society.Comprised of nine schools, the College encompasses a wide variety of disciplines of the built environment, education, media & communication, global & social studies and across all fields of art and design.
