An excellent opportunity exists for a highly skilled and self-motivated Perioperative Registered Nurse looking to continue developing management skills as part of an already motivated and achieving Perioperative Management team at a private hospital on the Mornington Peninsula. It is a full-time or part-time position.
ABOUT THE ROLE As the Associate Nurse Unit Manager:

• You will facilitate the smooth operation of the Perioperative Services Department with a can-do attitude and strong customer service focus;
• Apply advanced nursing practices in planning, implementing and evaluating care in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards;
• Provide a support role to all members of the nursing team, acting as a role model and resource person within the clinical area.;
• You will provide leadership and direction to the department to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the unit and hospital;
• Your positive attitude, ability to prioritise, delegate and adapt, along with your excellent time management skills are all of critical importance for this role;
• Drive positive improvement in a key portfolio of your interest, reporting to measureable KPI targets.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration with AHPRA;
• At least 5 years of clinical Perioperative Scrub/ Circulating Nurse experience;
• Experience in anaesthetics / PACU will also be highly regarded;
• Sound knowledge of the ACORN Professional Standards;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously;
• Ability to ensure excellence in customer service;
• Advanced problem-solving skills and negotiation skills with the ability to think critically and prioritize workloads;
• Strong desire to successfully enhance team performance and experience;
• Perioperative Post graduate qualification (desirable).

ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located on the Mornington Peninsula, is a comprehensive 344-bed acute emergency, surgical, medical, cardiac, and obstetric facility. The hospital currently accommodates a 14-bay emergency department, 226 medical and surgical, 36 cardiac, 11 ICU, 7 Neonatal, 14 Obstetric, and 30 Oncology beds, including 15-day infusion chairs.
