Job description

Mamamia is Australia's largest independent women's media company, with a decade-long reputation for being on the pulse of what women are talking about. If the Mamamia brand were a person, we'd be the one you can't stop talking to - we're candid, warm, honest and inclusive, and every day we're telling new stories you can't turn away from.

The Associate Product Manager will join our growing Product Team to support a portfolio of products at various life cycle stages, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver the best possible experience for our users.

The successful candidate will have prior success delivering digital products by setting clear goals, making decisions, holding themselves and the team accountable, developing a plan to achieve those goals, and rapidly iterating towards success while keeping customers at the centre.

About the role

  • Coordinate the delivery of new products and features end-to-end, including research, design, and development.
  • Develop clear and effective product requirements documentation and prototype designs to ensure seamless hand-off to the engineering team.
  • Working closely with engineering to ensure solutions are ultimately delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Perform validation testing of production releases, bug fixes, and feature requests.
  • Talk to customers and analyse customer feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Conduct stakeholder and customer interviews and research, and develop and run experiments to validate concepts.
  • Work with engineering and marketing teams to set goals, define product requirements, iterate on experiences as they are delivered, and ensure they are adopted by customers.
  • Concisely and impactfully communicate insights and recommendations to relevant stakeholders at various levels of the business.

About you

  • Background working across engineering, design, and marketing.
  • Experience using Figma or similar design tools.
  • Experience using Monday.com, Notion, Asana or similar project management tools.
  • Exceptional project management and stakeholder management skills, able to independently translate high level ideas into plans.
  • A structured approach to creative problem solving.
  • Ability to give and receive effective feedback with curiosity and respect.
  • A demonstrated commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to adapt a measured approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Data literate, and able to critically analyse consumer insights.
  • Possess a PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and wow your customers and co-workers every day.
  • Passionate about making the world a better place for women and girls.

About us

We're fast-paced and innovative, and democratic when it comes to strategies and ideas.

We're small enough that you can create real and tangible change, and have your voice heard, and large enough that we can support your ideas with experienced, industry-leading teams, and deliver them to an audience of millions of women every month.

The core purpose of Mamamia is to make the world a better place for women and girls, and we live this philosophy in the content we create, and with the work we do with our charity partner, Room to Read. The independence and empowerment of women starts with universal literacy, and since 2017, Mamamia has supported Room to Read's Girls' Education Program, which breaks cycles of illiteracy in Asia and Africa. We've funded the education of tens of thousands of girls, and Mamamia staff have visited the schools where we've made an impact.

As well as being a meaningful and exciting place to work, Mamamia offers:

  • A fun, dynamic and collaborative workplace culture
  • Learning & Development - tailored to each person's individual goals
  • A day off for your birthday (mama-me day!)
  • Flexible working conditions
  • Monthly birthday celebrations and quarterly events!
  • Free breakfast daily
  • Purchased annual leave scheme
  • Paid parental leave
  • Reward and Recognition - pick a prize from our rewards menu when you are recognised by your team!
  • Paid volunteer leave to get involved with our charity partners

Mamamia is an equal opportunity employer, all applicants will be considered regardless of your race, sexuality, religion, colour, gender identity or parental status. We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.
