How will I help?
These Associate Director, Product Manager roles sit within the International Payments Product team, which is responsible for managing the International Payments Products and the management of the associated schemes and network providers that facilitate the running of the products.
Specifically, these roles are responsible for running the assigned International Payments Products including financial performance and delivery of any strategic developments.
The Associate Director, Product Manager - International Payments Product will support the ISO 20022 migration and International Payments transformation initiatives, gather market insights and monitor emerging trends, and work with key stakeholders from risk, legal, compliance and financial crime to manage risk.
The Associate Director, Product Manager - SWIFT Services and Data will support the ISO 20022 migration initiative, perform data analysis and present insights, gather market insights and monitor emerging trends, and coordinate the relationship with SWIFT as a key scheme provider for high value and International Payments.
Accountabilities may include:
- End-to-end Product Management of International Payments product and supporting the development and execution of the strategy that delivers against agreed targets, improves product profitability and process effectiveness for the portfolio.
- Identify new products, payment solutions and strategies to uplift the volumes of payments across Westpac.
- Drive a customer centric strategy and its implementation to deliver outcomes regarding financial targets and cost drivers.
- Deliver product customer value propositions for your products through strong customer insights.
- Continuously optimise the end-to-end value chain, overall customer experience, product development and end to end business processes.
- Provision of accurate and timely management information on product performance and product history across the portfolio.
- Continuously monitor, analyse & present insights in relation to competitors, new emerging products, industry knowledge, emerging market trends locally and globally, customer need, and general market conditions.

What do I need?
To be successful in these roles you will have a minimum of five years’ practical experience in product management, within financial services.
You will have experience in International Payments or correspondent banking, and have some payments industry knowledge within the Australian market.
You will have knowledge of domestic and international payment regulations, FX, SWIFT and ISO 200022.
Additionally, you will have the following:
- Proven strength in strategic, numerical and analytical thinking.
- Track record in developing and delivery of product roadmaps, strategies and customer value propositions.
- Pulls together a strong fact base to make key decisions – drawing on financial, customer, and market data points to support.
- Draws on multiple data sources to solve customer pain points.
- Intermediate to advanced skill with excel desirable.
- Logical reasoning and sound commercial judgement.
- Strong skills in planning, time management and decision making.
