As an Associate Project Engineer for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Cheonan, Korea, you will be responsible for supporting engineering activities under the supervision of senior engineer in all types of projects sizes and complexities. Completing tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.
Your responsibilities
- Performing basic survey work, standard computations, analysis and basic design tasks. Collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design (e.g. creates drafts for the Project Engineer to approve). Assists other engineers (preparation of permit applications, testing, drawings, computer aided design work, etc.)
- Identifying variation requests to support contract claims issuing
- Following work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility. Ensuring quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost
- Supporting risk assessments and implementation of resulting actions in one’s area of responsibility. Documenting and handling technical risks according to mitigation guidelines
- Clarifying technical queries for customers. Interacting with other staff and contractors within one’s scope of deliverables
- Collaborating with the Supply Chain function, reviews vendor documentation, supports preparation of RFQs, evaluation of proposals, maintaining the execution of projects, etc.
- Using standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility. Reporting process and tool inefficiencies, along with suggesting ideas for improvement
- Assigning tasks to and coordinate work with technicians, administrative staff
Your background
- A bachelor’s degree in Electric, mechanical, Automation-related Engineering or a similar field
- 2 - 5 years of experience working as Robotic system, assembly and handling Project Engineer in Automotive or General industries
- Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including AutoCAD, Inventer, Solid Works and Catia would be preferred
- A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Intermediate level of speaking and writing English
- Ability to travel to domestic/international sites (> 50%)
