Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for leading the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services. The division also performs a meaningful internal role for the Group by providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business divisions that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers.

Global Institutional Banking Coverage leads banking relationship management and the provision of transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide IB&M clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.
Global Institutional Banking Coverage operates in three industry eco-systems: Institutional, Corporate and Natural Resources and Carbon. Transaction Banking Solutions (TBS) supports the coverage ecosystems to distribution of transaction banking products and analytical insights.
In this role
Supporting the Director of Strategy & Business Performance, the Associate role will see you joining a high performing team that assists in delivering compelling analysis and insights to the TBS leadership. You will also be providing key performance reporting, process improvements and delivering other ad hoc projects with our key Product partners across the group.
You will play a key role in providing client, transaction, and operational support to Senior Bankers across the customer lifecycle, responsibilities include:
Delivering quality and informative reporting to management and key stakeholders, as we continue to adapt key metrics to the evolving needs of our business (through multiple channels including dashboards)
Performing insightful and critical analysis over the TBS portfolio driving better business outcomes and strategic opportunities
Leveraging various data sources and business acumen to help verify assumptions and recommendations
Acting as an internal consultant and advocating for the IB&M Voice of Customer, representing the TBS business on a variety of working groups, projects and initiatives delivering a combination of strategic, change and risk management outcomes
Identifying, supporting, and delivering for continuous improvement in existing processes
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Proven experience within Product, Finance, Transactional Banking, or accounting firm is highly desirable
Highly proficient skills in MS Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
Tertiary qualifications in commerce or other business-related degree with Post graduate studies will be well regarded
Excellent written and spoken communications skills with strong influencing and interpersonal abilities
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrable experience in project management and/or reporting
Proactive and driven self-starter capability who can take a short brief and action it safely
