About the role.
As a senior position within the Governance Risk and Compliance Team, the Assurance Manager is required to build and continuously improve the Assurance Framework, manage a program of assurance over controls for material risks of the Fund (across the Three Lines of Accountability), manage the outsourced Internal Audit program and maintain the corporate insurance program.
Picture yourself.
- Planning and managing assurance activities to independently assess the design and operating effectiveness of processes and controls across the Fund.
- Managing a panel of external assurance providers to ensure adequate and appropriate resources are available to service the assurance needs of the Fund.
- Maintaining the Auditor Independence Policy to support assessments of independence threats. Monitoring and reporting periodically on compliance with this Policy.
- Managing the outsourced Internal Audit function and co-ordinating information requests between the Internal Auditor and Fund management.
- Managing external assurance activity requested by Line 1 in accordance with the Assurance Framework and the Auditor Independence Policy, ensuring there are independence threats.
- Co-ordination of GS007 internal control audits.
- Tracking and accurately reporting on management actions to address findings arising from external and internal audits, line 2 assurance activities and ad hoc assurance reviews.
- Testing for appropriate closure of actions in accordance with the Assurance Framework.
- Drafting timely and accurate reporting to the Trustee Board Finance, Audit and Compliance Committee and management reporting as required

- Appropriate industry or tertiary qualifications
- Exceptional experience in risk management and assurance or internal audit experience
- Establishing and maintaining risk management programs in highly regulated industries
- Financial services industry experience would be desirable.
