About the Role

We are seeking a candidate to work with our current production team as aAudiobook Production & Editorial Co-ordinator. The ideal candidate has extreme attention to detail including excellent spelling, grammar, and proofing skills, coupled with a love of design, composition, and brand-application rendering. This role is being offered as an ongoing full-time position. 

This is a highly rewarding role that oversees the production of physical audiobook covers and digital fronts (including the permissions clearance of images) and the overall quality control of our audiobook covers. You will work closely with our Audiobook Production team while also co-ordinating the work of our offshore cover-design team. Included in their work is the production of audiobook covers as well as digital fronts for both audiobooks and the large print books we distribute. 

The role includes hands-on administration of rights and permissions of Bolinda audiobook cover files, product support task checks, the managing and checking of files supplied, proofreading, metadata writing and editing, team support as required, and execution of these tasks within Bolinda’s system environment. 

Our ideal applicant holds a tertiary qualification in English, Publishing and/or Communications as well as rights permission clearance experience, or production co-ordination across multiple products or projects. 

Additionally, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan effectively and to manage changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment;
  • Superior computer skills including a solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to adapt to new software quickly;
  • Strong organisational, communication and administration skills;
  • Attention to detail and an understanding of good visual design;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a small production team;
  • A passion for books in all formats, reading and publishing; and
  • Basic to Intermediate competency with Adobe InDesign & Photoshop suites (on-the-job training available but prior experience highly regarded)
